Coronavirus, Globalism and Trump’s Prophetic Genius on China

Updated: Sep 1, 2023

Candidate Donald Trump campaigned in large part against ‘unfair trade deals’ that were hurting the American worker, such as NAFTA and the Chinese entrance into the WTO and their subsequent takeover of American manufacturing. He won. So what says ‘bring manufacturing, food and medicine production back to America’ better than a massive potential pandemic originating in the country which currently performs so many of those tasks – a communist country no less? The coronavirus, which began in China, as so many other virus outbreaks like SARS and bird flu, just demonstrates once again that Trump is a visionary thinker and strategist who understands reality like no politician can.

Politicians deal in segments of time – election cycles. Whether 2, 4 or 6 years, their primary focus, if they’re self-serving (and most are), is primarily the next election and how they can retain their office. International business people on the other hand, of which Trump is one, need a far broader scope, to include everything from politics, religion and its influence over a nation’s culture and business, even weather patterns, and everything in between which might influence the business cycle. One of these would be the implications of an epidemic like coronavirus.

Trump’s complaints about the outsourcing of manufacturing is becoming dangerously clear, or should be, to every single person in America, from someone who has an I-Phone or Adidas sneakers, to anyone who takes medicine. After all, did you know that China manufactures 80% of all medicine in America? Yes, 80%! You probably didn’t, nor do most. I certainly didn’t.

So think of the impact that closing down manufacturing could have on the supply of medicines, from the simple to the most complex, could have on a population – during flu season no less – if the country which makes it can’t produce it! These are things the average person doesn’t consider as they go about their daily lives, but which people like Trump and his advisor Steve Bannon in particular, have been screaming from the rooftops about.

You cannot allow your supply chain to be dominated by a country which not only hates you and is anathema to your very principles, but which seeks to overtake you. Who let this happen?

We know who let it happen, which begets a bigger problem for President Trump in his re-election if this virus expands dramatically in the U.S. or seriously affects the U.S. economy, which is that the Socialist candidate for President will blame, and get sympathy for that position – capitalism. It’s ironic, of course, because Bernie, who used to favor immigration policies which helped the American working class and once complained about open borders being ‘a Koch brothers proposal’, now supports letting everyone in and granting them amnesty. Because nothing says ‘let’s protect our people from coronavirus’ like swinging the doors open to everyone from the rest of the world.

Interestingly however, we have a potential pandemic on our hands, and not a single Democrat is even TALKING about it. They’re too busy out-Lefting each other, from Bernie Sanders, who got kicked out of a commune for being too lazy, to Fauxcahantas, who’s busy pandering to the very smallest minority of Americans – so-called ‘transgenders’ – by saying she’d have the Secretary of Education pick decided by a 9-year-old transgender. Meanwhile, Trump has been talking about China forever. And Sanders and Warren want to run everyone’s healthcare but Democrats can’t even count the votes for a caucus in the small state of Iowa. And that fiasco actually looks like it’s going to happen again in Nevada. You really trust that clown show to manage a pandemic? Besides, the Left has already started to label concern for coronavirus racist. (You just knew that was coming).

Apparently the Chinese drywall debacle wasn’t enough. And having several animals die from poisoned food made in China wasn’t enough either, despite the trauma that caused for pet owners. And China’s influence is all over our system from top to bottom, including as I mentioned, food and medicine. From Food and Water Watch, ‘The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has done little to address the growing tide of food imports from China, despite a well-documented pattern of chemical adulteration and unsafe drug residues. The FDA inspects less than 2 percent of imported food and barely visits Chinese food manufacturers. The FDA conducted only 13 food inspections in China between June 2009 and June 2010.’

Regarding medicine, According to one Politico article, ‘Last year, China accounted for 95 percent of U.S. imports of ibuprofen, 91 percent of U.S. imports of hydrocortisone, 70 percent of U.S. imports of acetaminophen, 40 to 45 percent of U.S. imports of penicillin and 40 percent of U.S. imports of heparin, according to Commerce Department data.

In all, 80 percent of the U.S. supply of antibiotics are made in China. In a rare high-profile public comment, one former central bank adviser suggested that China could curb its exports of antibiotics to the United States as a trade war retaliation tool.’ Think about that.

No one has really been willing to aggressively and committedly take on China before Trump, and it isn’t even on Democrat’s radar. And I won’t get started on the Democrat-come-lately trying to buy the nomination, Bloomberg, who literally said – on tape – that the Bloomberg ‘news’ organization would only report news China would allow. Bloomberg, like other business people, academia, and the financial, sports and entertainment industries, are all so heavily dependent on having access to China’s markets they’ve been unwilling to rock the boat, even as China was cracking down on freedom protesters in Hong Kong or ethnic Muslim minorities.

Even former politicians are in the pockets of Chinese companies. The irony is that even though the liberals hate Trump, they love them Apple Products. They’re hate-Tweeting Trump on Chinese made iPhones and iPads, and if/when the coronavirus interrupts production of the things they love, they’ll be bitching about it, and want to fix it. They’ll claim they’re anti-capitalist, but they love their ‘stuff’ as much as anyone else. And if they find out that somehow Starbucks coffee is made in China, they’ll probably vote for Trump.

So virtually everything and everyone that comes at Trump, from Frank, aka Pope Francis, criticizing Trump’s faith, to the horrific attempts to smear Kavanaugh, and now the Coronavirus, always seems to redound to Trump’s benefit. Think of it, at the time we’re having trade talks and China’s being slammed for stealing trillions of dollars in our Intellectual Property and they’ve tried to back out of the deal, after their economy has become the worst in 30 years while Trump has been hammering them, they get the Coronavirus, which will seriously harm their economy and make them more willing to negotiate in order to save themselves.

Yes, it will harm our economy in the short run, and we won’t know the results of that for a while, but it will invariably show the serious flaws of the Globalist agenda, which has made virtually the entire planet dependent on the slave labor of a country which is a petri-dish of potential pandemics that could destroy all of its trading partners. And sure, nature is a foe even the indomitable Trump can’t control, but in this case, as in so many others, he will have been proven right once again.
